Tonight I visited an art festival in a vibrant city. The downtown area was spectacular, teeming with people, and littered with genuinely good art. I watched as men beat pieces of bronze into brazen bowls and molded molten glass into swirling chalices of green and blue. The experience reminded me of the importance of culture. Sometimes the busyness of life creeps in and whispers loudly that efficiency is more important than beauty, and money more valuable than peace and creativity. Neither of these are true, but that is easy to forget in a society of rush and deadlines.
